Let’s pick your perfect location!!
Choosing a location for your photo session is part of the fun because the place you choose really sets the vibe. What’s even cooler is that the same spot can feel totally different depending on the time of year.
In Utah, the weather can be a little all over the place. Typically, things start to turn green in late April/early May. Wildflower season runs from June through August, followed by fall colors in September and October. The best snow in Utah is usually from December to February.
No matter where you choose, we will make MAGIC! You don’t have to pick a location from this list either, I’m always up for trying somewhere new.
If you’re looking to make your session more meaningful, choosing a location that’s special to the two of you can be a great option. You can also choose an activity you love doing together and incorporate it into your session, which can lead us to some really fun spots! Fishing, rock climbing, hiking, ice skating, or even reading together at a library are just a few ideas to make your session totally unique to you.
Salt Lake County Locations
Jordan Pines Campground
I LOVE Jordan Pines! There is a day-use parking fee of $10 per vehicle or you can use your America the Beautiful Pass by just leaving it on your cars dash. This location has HUGE pine trees and is beautiful all year round!
Albion Basin
Albion Basin, located in Little Cottonwood Canyon, offers some of the most breathtaking mountain views I’ve ever seen. Access requires an SUV, as the drive includes a dirt road and a $15 fee at a toll booth. Cecret Lake, Albion Meadows, and Catherine Pass are the most popular photo spots. Wildflowers typically peak from July through early August, making it an especially stunning time to visit.
Storm Mountain
This is a stunning place to take photos, especially in the winter. Reaching the spot requires a bit of bouldering, but the effort is well worth it. The striking red and black rocks create a dramatic, romantic backdrop that makes photos here truly unforgettable.
The Utah State Capitol
The Utah State Capitol is a timeless, elegant location for photos. I especially love it in the winter, when many outdoor settings feel gray and dormant. Built from beautiful quartz, the Capitol features stunning architectural details throughout. If you’re looking for an elegant and refined backdrop for your photos, this is an excellent choice.

Trappers Loop Location #1
My all-time favorite location of 2025! This spot is right off the road on the way up to Snowbasin—literally just a quick pull-off along the road. I recommend driving an SUV or truck and using caution when pulling over, as traffic moves quickly in this area. The location offers beautiful mountain views year-round, though the terrain is hilly and can be muddy in some spots.
Trappers Loop Location #2
Another beautiful location with stunning mountain views. This location is again off the side of the road. This location is hilly and can be muddy in some places depending on the weather. I prefer the lighting in the evening at this spot. :)
Snowbasin Resort in Huntsville Utah
The Maples Winter Trail offers a variety of different looks, making it a fun and versatile photo location. The trail is shared with bikers and hikers, so we may need to work around them at times, but that’s a small trade off for such a great spot. I especially love this location because it feels a bit more hidden, not many photographers seem to know about it, so you don't see it as often.
Ogden Botanical Gardens
The Ogden Botanical Gardens have a variety of spots to take pictures at. There is path through the gardens that takes you next to the Weber River. During the spring, the tulip gardens, rose bushes, and fruit trees are blossoming.
Old Snowbasin Rd
This location is beautiful and near Pine view Reservoir. Just a little uphill walk on the old, closed road brings you to beautiful quaking aspens, fields of tall grass, and at the top a stunning view of Mount Ogden. The road to this location is closed from Dec-April.
Ogden Bike Park
This location is so unique! There is a bit of a steep walk to get up to the trail, once you are there the location has beautiful rocks and mountain views one way and you turn the other way you have a stunning view of the valley. The lighting is best here in the morning, it gets extremely bright as the sun is setting.
Davis County Locations
Antelope Island
This location does have a $15 fee to get into the park per vehicle, once you are in, there are lots of spots on the island that are beautiful! You do have to be aware of buffalo and in some seasons there are swarms of spiders that live in the sage brush but Antelope Island is so unique! Lady Finger Point Trail, Mountain View Trail, and near buffalo bay are all spots to consider!
Tunnel Springs
There is a good chance you will recognize this location if you are from Utah! It is a super popular photo location but for good reason. Tunnel springs has rolling hills, yellow wildflowers that bloom in the spring, and a cute wooden fence! In some seasons, the grasses can leave brown pollen on your clothes as you walk through it. I’ve never had an issue getting it out - dusting it off or washing your clothes afterward removes it without any lasting stains. The light is especially beautiful in the morning here.
USU Botanical Center
This spot is located right next to the Kaysville USU campus. The grass path takes you through beautiful trees. This location is pretty green most of the year and well kept by USU. It is also across the street from the Kaysville Ponds. The lighting is always beautiful as the sun comes through the leaves.
Great Salt Lake Shoreline Preserves
I LOVE the wooden board walks here and this is a location that looks pretty all year round. It gets green in the spring but during the summer the tall grass turns yellow/tan. The best lighting here in my opinion is in the evening.
White Backdrop
I own a 6 foot wide white paper backdrop. This is a good option for couples, newborns or small families wanting a studio look but not wanting to pay a studio fee.

Rolling Hills in Wellsville
This spot is absolutely beautiful in the summer and fall. It feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, yet it’s only about 20 minutes from the South Logan Walmart. To get here, you’ll drive on a dirt road for a few minutes until you reach a pull-off near a wooden corral. After parking, you’ll walk up wooden stairs and over a barbed-wire fence. Be prepared for some walking, as this location does require hiking a hill.
Green Canyon/ King Nature Park
Green Canyon has a variety of spots to shoot at. The park is covered in bushy pine trees and tall wild grass. There is a bridge, a small pond, and a cute wooden fence here as well. In the spring and summer, little yellow flowers bloom in a few spots at this location! Green Canyon is about 10 minutes from USU.
USU Old Main Hill
An awesome location for those who don't want a big drive to find a beautiful spot. Old Main Hill has HUGE pine trees on the South side of the staircase. They look beautiful all year round but I especially love this location in the winter. There is a lot of grassy area to run around in. In the spring there are many other trees that bloom beautiful blossoms.
White Pine Bunch Grass Canyon
White Pine is a great winter location! It is in Logan Canyon and is about 30 minutes from USU. This location gets super snowy so I do recommend bringing good shoes to walk in! My favorite thing about this location is the super tall pines trees and as long as the sun is up the location looks beautiful at any time of the day.
Benson Railroad Bridge Trailhead
This spot is perfect for running around and having fun! It’s nice and flat, which makes taking pictures super easy. The link will take you to a small dirt parking lot in Benson, right across the street from the Benson Marina where the dock photos below were taken. There’s an adorable wooden fence nearby that makes a great photo prop, too. Just a heads up, since it’s right by the water, bugs and mosquitoes love it here. So don’t forget the bug spray! :)

Mantua Poppy Fields
This location has stunning red poppies, usually blooming during the last weeks of May and then through the first week of June. Yes, it gets crazy busy then. But honestly? This spot is criminally slept on the rest of the year. You do have to take a dirt road through a campground to get here, but don’t let that scare you off—it’s 100% worth it. The views are gorgeous, and there’s a huge open field with lots of room to run around and get beautiful pictures.
